There are a lot of amazingly wonderful things about being a parent and there are a lot of things that are challenging and darn-right difficult… your baby’s sleep should not be one of them.
I am a Sleep Sense certified children’s Sleep Consultant at Happy Baby Sleep Consulting and I just want you to know that you can fix your exhaustion because your babe isn’t sleeping well. I work with families, one-on-one, who are experiencing some pretty significant sleep deprivation and families struggling with sleep holds a special place in my heart. The sleepless nights and zombie-like expressions during the day are REAL. However, it is absolutely possible to make things less stressful. For me, my sleep challenges all started with my oldest son, Dylan. My rock bottom was holding him at 3am, nodding off in the rocking chair for HOURS, having had multiple night wakings before that (and also done this exhausting nighttime ritual for MONTHS already!) and I had to be up for work in a few hours. My husband and I both realized that we couldn’t maintain like this any more; it just wasn’t sustainable. In my path to better sleep, I found many families going through similar struggles. But each sleep situation, each kiddo and each family is different and there’s beauty in those differences.
