Mom of the Month: May 2020

Each month, we are celebrating a member of FIT4MOM West Sacramento/Natomas for her commitment to a healthy lifestyle and dedication to FIT4MOM.

This month, we are spotlighting a founding mom and she also just had her 100th class! Meet our Mom of the Month for May: Cassie Rossman.

Tell us about who is in your family!

Josh is in the national guard and is a local lender. He loves to play the drums and has played for local restaurants and bars for fun. He also is a hardcore game night kind of guy. Collin is 4.5, loving preschool and interested in all sports. He loves music and dancing and he is a CHD warrior. Oliver is 6 weeks old. He is a very calm baby. He loves to be outside, music, movement, and seems to always be hungry.

Where is your hometown?

Red Bluff, but moved to Sac in 5th grade so I claim both.

What is your career?

Teacher! And I loved it. Switched to property management as a way to easily find work with Josh's military moves. I currently am working as a realtor, but just finished my MBA last month so the plan is to move into training and development at a hospital when the kids are both in school.

How did you find FIT4MOM?

Online searching when Collin was recovering from open heart surgery at Sutter.

How long have you been a member of FIT4MOM West Sacramento/Natomas, and what has it done for you?

Since the beginning! It has given me a chance to recharge and connect. A chance for Collin to learn social skills and make friends. It has given me inspiration with my fitness goals and friends I not only connect with but that I truly enjoy and share laughter with.

What is your favorite exercise?

Strides 360 and Body Back are my favorite!

What is something that has surprised you about motherhood?

How important self-care is.

What are 3 of your favorite things?

The outdoors, salsa dancing, travel...these will change in five seconds there are too many favorites outside of my family and friends!

What is your proudest mommy moment so far?

So many! My most recent one that comes to mind is when Collin took off without training wheels and even rode over several speed bumps his first time before he stopped.

What advice would you give to a new mother?

Take time for yourself so you can be the best version of yourself for your kids.

Ending thoughts?

Thankful for our village! It has saved me many times.

We are so lucky to have Cassie in our village. And congrats on 100 classes! It wouldn't be the same without her!
